Thigh pain and discomfort can affect your everyday life, but you don’t have to suffer in silence – there are a wide range of treatments available.

People with thigh pain can experience problems caused by trauma, medical conditions or injuries such as aches, pains and swelling.


What are the causes of thigh pain?

Injury from sport, or everyday activity, can contribute to thigh pain. Other cause can include falling over or direct contact to the thigh that may also bruise. In some cases thigh pain can stem from a back injury.


How can thigh pain be treated?

Treatments for thigh pain depend on the underlying cause. Many cases of thigh pain will go away in time and can be managed with rest, gentle exercise and over-the-counter painkillers. If pain is ongoing you should see your GP.
